ACC Senior Services

Senior Escort Program staff receive service requests from participants and match them with an appropriate volunteer based on availability and participant needs. Trained volunteers meet participants at their homes or another designated public location and provide companionship and walking assistance to destinations within the greater Sacramento area. Services are available Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Senior Escort Program is provided at no cost to participants. Volunteers serve in a non-paid capacity and are not permitted to provide transportation. Their role is limited to escorting participants on foot and offering companionship and support throughout the outing. Volunteers may assist participants by: Meeting participants at their home or another designated public location. Escorting participants on foot to destinations within the greater Sacramento area. Providing companionship and support during outings. Ensuring participants safely arrive at their destination and safely return home or leave the site before concluding the visit. Following all program policies and maintaining participant confidentiality, safety, and dignity throughout each escort.
