ACC Senior Services

We are seeking volunteers who are social and enjoy playing games with others! This opportunity will be held every Friday from 1:00pm to 3:30pm, although we can be flexible. We are asking volunteers to commit to a minimum of three (3) shifts. Set up: 1:00pm - 2:00pm Bingo: 2:00 - 3:00pm Social: 3:00 - 3:30pm

ACC Senior Services

The purpose of ACC’s CHAT (Conversations Helping Adults Thrive) Program is to provide seniors with socialization and companionship. The program aims to promote regular social connection, improve access to resources, and combat loneliness for participants who may be isolated, living alone, or in need of regular communication. Volunteers will engage with participants over the phone, offering companionship, emotional support, and monitoring their general well-being. This service is available Monday-Friday between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

When: Every Sunday Time: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM Role: Manage our information booth, share resources about ACC Senior Services, and engage with community members This is a great opportunity to connect with the community, build outreach skills, and help spread awareness about the programs and services we offer to support seniors. Flower Donation Pick-Up Volunteers help support ACC Senior Services’ community programs by picking up donated flowers from Costco South Sacramento, and delivering them to ACC Maple Tree Village for distribution to seniors and program participants. ACC Senior Services

The Friendly Visitor/In-Home Respite Program provides respite support for caregiving families to maintain and improve their quality of life. Volunteers offer family caregivers an opportunity to take a break (respite) from their caregiving duties and serve as friendly visiting companions to older adults. Position Responsibilities Provide and participate in safety supervision and social enrichment activities with the care receiver. All activities are non-medical. Volunteers do not provide personal care (assistance with activities of daily living), transportation, or housekeeping; activities may include: Companionship and safety supervision Short-distance walks or other non-medical exercises Arts and crafts Reading or watching TV/movies together Playing board games or card games Qualifications Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Have an interest in creating meaningful relationships with seniors.

As a Front Desk Assistant, volunteers will welcome visitors, answer incoming calls, and direct seniors to their clubs or classes. You are right in the middle of the action, and play a key role in our vision by connecting callers and visitors with the appropriate resources offered by our organization.

ACC’s Ohana Walk is a vibrant celebration of the people who keep us strong—our families, friends, community organizations, and faith partners. It’s a day filled with connection, community, and plenty of ALOHA spirit! This year, the event will be held on Saturday, September 19th, 2026. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make this year’s Ohana Walk a fun, safe, and successful experience for everyone. Last year, more than 1,000 people came together to walk in support of ACC’s programs for older adults and family caregivers—and this year, we’re expecting an even bigger turnout! Volunteers play an important role in making the day run smoothly. Whether you’re helping fellow volunteers check in, cheering on walkers, guiding participants along the route, or helping with event activities, your time and energy will make a difference. 📍 Start & Finish: ACC Campus, 7334 Park City Drive Along the route, participants will find water stations, rest markers, and fun-filled check-in booths to keep everyone refreshed, encouraged, and connected along the way. ACC Senior Services transportation program (ACC Rides) is a lifeline that provides door-to-door transportation to seniors in the community, providing a measure of independence for people who are unable to drive or use public transport. In this role, volunteers will transport seniors to various programs, medical appointments and social outings operating an ACC vehicle (either a mini van or small bus) within a 10-mile driving distance of ACC Senior Services location at 7334 Park City Drive located in the Greenhaven/Pocket area.

The Senior Employment Tech Volunteer provides one-on-one technology assistance to older adults participating in workforce development programs. Volunteers help seniors build confidence using computers, smartphones, online job applications, email, virtual meetings, and other digital tools needed for today’s workplace.

Senior Escort Program staff receive service requests from participants and match them with an appropriate volunteer based on availability and participant needs. Trained volunteers meet participants at their homes or another designated public location and provide companionship and walking assistance to destinations within the greater Sacramento area. Services are available Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Senior Escort Program is provided at no cost to participants. Volunteers serve in a non-paid capacity and are not permitted to provide transportation. Their role is limited to escorting participants on foot and offering companionship and support throughout the outing. Volunteers may assist participants by: Meeting participants at their home or another designated public location. Escorting participants on foot to destinations within the greater Sacramento area. Providing companionship and support during outings. Ensuring participants safely arrive at their destination and safely return home or leave the site before concluding the visit. Following all program policies and maintaining participant confidentiality, safety, and dignity throughout each escort.

ACC Senior Services

We are looking for volunteers who can occasionally go walking with seniors before Social Hour, set up tables and chairs, then help pass out waters and snacks during club meetings. At the ACC Main Campus, we offer older adults a safe place for some fun, casual activities, and getting to know others in the area! We will have coffee and tea, snacks, and activities like board games, puzzles, education, and some special outings.
